Propositions - Local HCRP Summary HCRP Position
PROPOSITION A: Hood County For the issuance of bond debt to finance an expansion of the county jail. The amount of the bond is $24,000,000. Earlier proposals clocked in at over $100M and $50M, respectively. At $24M, this is a sensible and fiscally responsible plan to expand the capacity of the county jail with an additional 161 beds. The Hood County Sheriff is charged with housing inmates, even beyond the capacity of the jail. In those circumstances, HCSO must contract with other counties to take inmates into their jails. See a full write-up on the Welcome page at hcrptexas.com Vote YES (FOR)
PROPOSITION B: Hood County For the issuance of bond debt to finance the Master Thoroughfares Plan (MTP) for road repairs, improvements, and new roads within the county. The amount of the bond is $125,000,000. Consistent with the continuing population growth in our county, and the resulting traffic - coupled with responsible governance to maintain existing roads, the Master Thoroughfares Plan (MTP) aims to relieve congestion throughout Hood County. Vote YES (FOR)
